Terms

Last updated September 9, 2026

Lares is new and lets people in a few houses at a time. By using it you agree to the following, which is short on purpose.

Your house, your things

Everything you photograph, name and keep in Lares is yours. You give us permission to store it, make cutouts and 3D models from it, and show it to the people you invite. You can delete any of it, or all of it, whenever you like.

Cameras

Only put a camera in a room that is yours to watch, and tell the people who live there. Do not point one at a neighbour, a street, or anyone who has not agreed. Camera features are available only after you accept the deal described on the privacy page.

Behave

Do not upload anything you have no right to, anything unlawful, or anything meant to hurt someone. Do not try to get into other people's households or to overload the service. Accounts that do are closed.

It is early

Lares is provided as is, while it is being built. Things will change, some features will break, and we may pause or end the service. We keep backups and try hard, but do not rely on Lares as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Your account

You need a Google account to sign in. New accounts wait until they are let in. We may close an account that breaks these terms. You can delete your own account at any time from the household screen.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date above changes and you will see a note in the app.
